Welcome to my blog!

I am a lefty. I write vertically, cannot use can-openers and was recently foiled by a right handed ladle (I will have my vengeance...) but more than this, I generally seem to approach life from a different angle. I appreciate that this may have nothing to do with being a lefty and may just be my own dysfunctionallity, but after earning the nickname 'Lefty-Flip' after a frustrating game of Guitar Hero, it seemed an appropriate title for this blog.

Confessions of a Potter addict

Okay for a while now I've been holding back on the HP love, because I've been told, I have a tendency to get a little carried away...

But here is my addiction laid bare. I have been collecting Harry Potter books for the past eleven years or so, I decided to do an inventory a few months ago. I stopped counting when I reached two hundred and seven... and I'm sure there's still a box in my parents loft somewhere.

Anyway, for all you Potter lovers out there, or just for people who love beautiful books - here is my collection for you to enjoy.

My Bookshelf

The ones that started it all

Special Editions

American Editions

These are amazing - each dust cover folds out into a beautiful picture by artist Mary GranPre (see more at http://www.marygrandpre.com/)

Chinese editions

 Japanese editions

German editions (the first three books I believe are lost in the parents' loft!) Some of my favourite artwork by Sabine Wilharm. In fact I think it was the German books that kick started my foreign collection.

 More foreign editions...

and more...

Various others including first editions, misprints, upside-down bindings, and other miscellaneous printing errors are currently residing in my cupboard!

Oh and one last one, a personal favourite because I just can't help but think that somewhere, something got lost in translation...
