Welcome to my blog!

I am a lefty. I write vertically, cannot use can-openers and was recently foiled by a right handed ladle (I will have my vengeance...) but more than this, I generally seem to approach life from a different angle. I appreciate that this may have nothing to do with being a lefty and may just be my own dysfunctionallity, but after earning the nickname 'Lefty-Flip' after a frustrating game of Guitar Hero, it seemed an appropriate title for this blog.

Blogging on the sly...

*Creaks door open* Hello? *tiptoes in* If everyone promises to be quiet, I can do some sneaky blogging!

Due to my spontaneous house move I am currently without internet! Will be surreptitiously blogging during office hours but don’t tell!

This does mean that my posts will sadly be Fran-free for a little while, as posting pictures of my cat is a rather large giveaway that I’m not doing what I should be…

Am currently living amid a fort of boxes – unpacking has ground to a halt as I have run out of shelves to put things on! Have been spending my evenings leaving through the trusty Argos catalogue, folding down corners to mark three times as much furniture than would ever fit into my new home. This has actually been my sole source of entertainment for a while due to the fact that I had no TV signal whatsoever. Then my DVD player conked out, swiftly followed by a sticky-buttoned Playstation.
I snapped at the weekend, got the credit card out and went and got a new tv! Hey presto, I now have (some) working channels! No Dave though L am very sad as this means I’ve not been getting my regular dose of QI and am running out of interesting facts!
Being about to quote Argos catalogue numbers doesn’t qualify as interesting I have been informed.
It may not be interesting, but I feel it deserves some recognition, especially seeing as my perusing was done by candlelight due to a busted light fixture in the living room!

But things are shaping up in the Lefty-Flip household, my light has been fixed, my new bed finally arrived, and Fran has finally realised that she lives here now. She has stopped slinking round with her tail between her legs and has realised the fun to be had in pouncing on me from under the stairs and enjoying a nightly game of hide and seek.

Needless to say, I have done absolutely no writing whatsoever the past three weeks! Turns out not all women can multi-task after all.
Am happy to be taking things one step at a time at the moment though! And will settle for a working tv and a happy cat.

Ah, the little things in life.

Will try and post again soon!

New Years Resolution? To shake things up...

Happy New Year! That's not me well-wishing - it's a direct order! This new year better be a happy one dammit! I am determined to make good things happen this year, or at least make stuff happen... I can't be responsible for the results!

So lets take a look at my shambles of a life then.

Number one - the Job. Well after taking two and a half years to get my foot in the door, I don't dare rock that boat! Maybe I'll start a rumour that I'm getting promoted/a pay rise and see what happens...

Number two, I am determined to get a place of my own this year. Don't get me wrong, I love my housemates, I just love my own space more! Am very excited about this, so much so that I am actually going to look at a place tomorrow... will be back to update!

Number three - The Book. the second draft is nearly done, I swear! Trouble is it needs a 3rd... possibly a 4th... Still, what else have I got planned for January but to sit indoors, eat chocolate and write? Hopefully I'll be posting that the 2nd draft is done by February (if my porky fingers will still allow me to type by then)

Number four - my weary weary bones. I have an appointment at the hospital on Monday and am viewing this as a good thing as I am done feeling sorry for myself! Really hoping it's not arthritis, but will be nice just to know what's going on.

And that's all for now! I think that's plenty to be getting on with.

While I'm in this chipper mood I best get off and do some writing!

Ahh, Fran at one with nature!

Bye for now!
